About Shani Shanti Japam
What is Shani Shanti Japam?
Shani Shanti Puja is the remedy for Sade Sati, Ashtama Shani and Shani dasha — the chanting of Shani’s mantra 23,000 times with Shani pooja, tila abhishekam and dana — for relief from delays, losses and hardship.
Saturn rewards patience and discipline but brings hardship when afflicted. During the 7½-year Sade Sati (Saturn over the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the Moon) many families do Shani japam, light sesame-oil lamps on Saturdays and worship Hanuman.
