About Kumbh Vivah (Manglik Dosha)
What is Kumbh Vivah (Manglik Dosha)?
Kumbh Vivah is a remedial marriage of a Manglik girl to a kumbh (earthen pot) in which Lord Vishnu is invoked, before her actual wedding, so that the effects of Mangal dosha fall on the pot and the marriage is protected.
The pot, as Vishnu, takes on the dosha and is later immersed in water. The ceremony follows the full vivah vidhi with pheras around the kumbh, and is usually kept private within the family.
