About Griha Pravesh Pooja
What is Griha Pravesh Pooja?
Griha Pravesh (Gruhapravesam) is the housewarming ceremony for entering a new home on an auspicious muhurtham, with Ganapati pooja, Vastu pooja, Navagraha pooja and a homam so the family begins life in the house with blessings.
The family enters with a kalasham and a lamp, boils milk until it overflows as a sign of abundance, and invokes Vastu Purusha and the nine planets to bless the home. Many families add Satyanarayana Vratham the same evening.
