About Pitru Dosha Nivarana Pooja
What is Pitru Dosha Nivarana Pooja?
Pitru Dosh Puja is the remedy for pitru dosha — the affliction attributed to unsatisfied ancestors, shown by the Sun or Moon with Rahu or Ketu in the 9th house — with tarpanam, pinda daan, Narayana pooja and homam.
Signs traditionally linked with pitru dosha include repeated failures, delays in marriage and children, and family disputes. The shanti satisfies the ancestors with tarpanam and pindas and seeks Lord Vishnu’s grace for their peace.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Pitru Dosha Nivarana Pooja cost?
Pitru Dosha Nivarana Pooja with a verified Stuti Mandir pandit starts from ₹9,100 as pandit dakshina, for about 2.5 to 3 hours. The price can be a little higher outside the metro cities, live video pujas cost less than a home visit, and the full bill is shown before you pay.
How do I know if I have Pitru dosh?
An astrologer checks your chart (Sun, Moon, Rahu and the 9th house). Repeated family obstacles are also traditionally attributed to it.
Is it the same as Shraddham?
No. Shraddham is the annual rite for a departed person; Pitru Dosh Puja is a remedy for the family’s ancestors as a whole.
